Michael Stevenson trained at Trinity College of Music, London as an organist, conductor, oboist and singer. Whilst studying he won the Ricordi Orchestral Conducting Scholarship but has since specialised in choral conducting. He is an experienced adjudicator, lecturer and teacher gaining a distinction for his Master's degree in Music Education at Kingston University. In addition to his freelance career he has been a member of staff at Trinity College of Music Junior Department, Director of Music at several schools and is currently at King's College School, Wimbledon. As a choral conductor he has a wide range of experience including children's opera, youth choirs, church choirs, choral societies and chamber choirs as well as conducting a number of first performances of commissioned works. He was appointed conductor of the Epsom Chamber Choir in 1990 and will be celebrating his twentieth year with them in 2010.
